June 29 (Wednesday)

Fundamentals of nursing a.k.a. Funda - two quizzes, asepsis and nursing concept. Ang hirap kasi may identification at isang katerbang enumeration on asepsis. Sa nursing concept naman kasama pa history... ;( I got 46/60 daw on nursing concepts, not bad considering I didn't study, as in did not, the nursing history. :)

Anatomy-Physiology a.k.a. Ana-Physio - lecture on the nervous system… whew! dami. And by the way, we had our pre-test first on nervous system... anlabo! :( As usual, masaya... tawa ng tawa! ;) Mga hirit: "Rolando is always on top of Sylvia" (referring to the different regions of the brain), on reflex: "Ay tae... tae!" with demo, during the 10 min break: "Ok, let's have a break. I need to break also.", on speech paralysis: another demo "uuugghheelllggghghe" with tongue outside (picture it out, haha!), while scanning the ppt slides: "ok, ok... cge. blah-blah...\" like talking to himself pero naririnig namin, and talking fast! ;) We're so bad! :)

LUNCH - badtrip si HERO!

I actually forget some procedures in asepsis and I was the first to demonstrate! Nakakakaba lang. :)

Nursing history - We are assigned individual patients in Medicine Forbes ward and we would ask them questions written in our Nursing History form (super dami!). My patient was actually Rita Nolasco... but the first time I saw her I knew right then that she was not the approachable type. ;) She was also alone and her facial expressions made me even more nervous. It took time before I could actually approach her to say my purpose... and I was right. She doesn't want to be interviewed or bothered. She said she was sleepy, I know it's just her excuse. Rejected for the first time, it sucks! ;p I was reassigned to another patient, this time I got the chance to asked questions but to his niece na lang. Mabait naman sila, very cooperative. :) My patient's name was Jorge Leal, 66 of age and his niece was Ma. Rose Joyeth L. Montiano (haba, hehe). I learned a lot though I didn't had the chance to ask the other questions. He was operated due to liver stones.

Shadowing - Favorite part! :) I was super happy with this activity... I had an overview of what really a nurse (or I would do) does inside the ward... from getting the VS (vital signs), bed making, records, injection, etc. :) I got to get the pulse rate of a deaf-mute patient, super bait nung 4th year nursing student; I was inspired. :) After that I learned a bit about bed making... a tedious task! I watched then prepare injections... basta super dami sa nurses station na ginagawa. I watched them get blood sugar of diabetic patients and injection of insulin. I listened on what are the different recordings of patients... andami din, can I do it kaya? We returned to our ward and had a sharing. I said that I could not imagine myself doing anything other than that (being a nurse or a health worker). I could now see the responsibilities of my chosen profession but also the opportunities to learn things, lotsa things. :) Basta cge lang...

*Very bad experience at the hospital canteen... the nerve of that girl! I was enjoying my meal (lunch time) and it's not my purpose to spill some rice on her "precious" feet... she shrieked (eeeiiiiwww!). I said sorry but not really in her face, I said it while I was also removing the other rice on my uniform. When she passed by she said, "Next time learn how to say sorry..." with a really nasty look in her face. Then I faced my friends and told them I said sorry naman e... may pahabol pa yung girl "Make sure I would hear it..." then he stares at me wickedly... as in habang naglalakad siya towards the door... nakipag eye contact naman ako with a taray expression din. Urgh! So I made a mistake but she doesn't have to such a meanie... med student pa man din siya and I know alam niya na bata pa ko (haha). Bully! I don’t know if I really deserve that... hate it!*

No classes in English... Tita Net (our guidance counselor) meets us instead. Wala lang she told news about nursing. Like:

There is a new policy written on the student contract that freshmen signed. Before it was just that the student must get an average of 2.0 and passed all subjects. Now there is a need of a certificate of good moral character from the advisers before they could be admitted to 2nd year, and that was brought about by our batch. So it shows lang na pasaway talaga batch namin, maybe specifically our section... hehe. ;p

For those aspiring to be a med student (that's me!) there would be an NMAT on Dec and April, I didn't get much the details. Basta there are limited students who are admitted from the university, plus the grade requirement for females is 2.0 compared to males' 2.25. So unfair! That's because the female applicants outnumbers the male applicants. Wish ko lang I could be one of them! :)

Scholarships up for grabs! Free tuition, miscellaneous, books, and monthly allowance! Whoa! Basta 13 lahat... different sponsors. 10 lang ata yung sa college of nursing and the other 3 from other organizations of some sort, hehe. :) Syempre, for those who are really deserving of the scholarship... and that's not you JIM... sakim! ;p

This year only 95% (passing rate) of the students passed the board exams... awww, how sad! ;( 18 didn't passes and 3 didn't get the exam...

June 27 (Monday) - Nursing 101... long, long lecture about the nursing process and etc. Boring... pero funny classmates ko, haha. :) Hmm, nakita ko si Life... at si boy kalbo... maganda ang umaga. :) A long break afterwards... 12:00-2:30. Hanna and I went to Aling Ising's concerning uniforms. Hanged-out at my pad to "study"... many tests on Wednesday (Fundamentals & Ana-Physio). Urgh!

We went back to school all wearing jackets... haha. COOL! ;) Anyways, it's cold inside the laboratory. Drawing galore! That's why nursing is an ART and science... damn those microbes! Draw... draw... draw... chikka... chikka... chikka... tawa... tawa... tawa... :) FOODTRIPPING! :) Maduduming pagkain sa kalye... woo-hoo! Sarap-sarap kaya... at may guwapo. ;) Went back to pacific to sleep and study afterwards. Ate dinner in Lisa's with Claire and Auds... and oh! Maben dropped by to get his invitation to the twin's party. :)

Study mode... naisip ko lang... sobrang hindi ako exposed lately sa TV!!! No current news either... waaah! Deprived of any happenings... especially showbiz (eeeiiiwww!). I want to watch something... to at least have onting knowledge... wish ko lang umulan ng malakas at mawalan ng pasok dahil libing na ni Cardinal (even his death came to me a little bit late)... hehe. ;)

Gateway escapade

*June 24 (Friday) - NO CLASSES, Manila Day. :) I stayed here so I could meet the twins... I woke up around 9 and started cleaning. General cleaning... the floors... and the bathroom. Hay, medyo umayos naman itsura niya... it looked clean. :) Hope I could maintain that "look" all week... it's so tiring. Malas, hindi naman nakakapunta maid dito so I really have to clean it myself. I could actually clean a bathroom, haha. Specialty ko ata yun. ;) Lunch with Claire. :)
Meet Yoki in Legarda station... I waited pa in Mini Stop (espana). Hindi talaga ako marunong sumakay ng LRT, haha. Bobo! ;p Buti na lang mabait ung mama sa assistance, thank you! :) Talagang naghanap pa ng isang LRT e... parang meron! ;p Alam ko pagtatawanan na naman ako nina Hero, haha! Ayun, nakarating naman ng Gateway and meet the twins... yehey! :) We looked for a gift for Stephen, hehe. Secret na lang kung ano... let and coy ate. The twins left early, punta pa sila Paranaque. Coy and I stayed na lang to watch a movie: Mr&Mrs Smith... I don't know, I didn't really liked the movie... ewan parang gusto na ayaw. Babaw lang pala kasi story... hehe. :) Super lamig naman sa gateway! The film ended 8:15, I think. Ate dinner then waited for my mom to pick me up. Super tagal naman, galing pa pala Makati... shox! Ayun, tambay sa labas kasi super lamig talaga sa loob... at long last, dumating din. Naiinip na ko actually, and si Coy kawawa naman napaghintay e mag-cocommute pa yun pabalik. We dropped by pa sa Dapitan then went home... super antok when we got home (about midnight). ZzZzZzZ! :)

WEEKEND
Aww, ginger is sooo sweet talaga... medyo at first hindi na niya ata ako ulit kilala, hehe. :) Pero ayun she was really malikot... takbo... lakad... wagging the tail... sa loob nga bahay. Basta lovable! And every time you would place a blanket on your lap expect her to cuddle... the sweetest thing talaga. :) Sinama namin siya sa bayan... nerbyoso yung aso na un... hehe. Sobrang nanginginig siya inside the car... hindi sanay. Pinagkaguluhan siya ng mga kiddos... kakatawa. ;) Basta loves her... kahit may poknat pa rin siya sa ears and face... haha! ;)

*June 23 (Thursday)
CHN (Community Health Nursing) - as if naiintindihan ang lesson, can't she make it any clearer?!? Kopyahan after the lecture (post test), haha. :)

Anatomy-Physiology (sensitive, hehe) - Dr. James, Dr. James... super sleepy... my eyes were literally falling on it's own... I had to keep it moving to avoid it to shut. ;) Buti na lang nabuhayan ako when all of the sudden Sir was talking about the nails and it;s connection in picking our nose... why our nipples, lips, genitalia don't have hairs (so pag nagkiss kau e di ang kati-kati... and as for the nipples you had to seek it pa daw when you'll breastfeed) DUH! And as for the ears wax, famous line "...be kalikuting your ear"”... conyotic! ;) And why our p*b*c hairs are curly and not straight... "so kung straight at humaba yan kelangan pa gupitin... I hope none of you doesn't have *toot*". According to him, it serves as a cushion... e.g. when bumped. ;) Kakaloka. :)

English - group presentation on how communication started... the best ang II-10! ;) It's fun watching each presentation... puro bloopers, especially kina Evert... ;) Got 26/30!
Claire and I went to Lasal Taft... wala lang, tambay sa Mcdo and make sipat some cute guys. ;) Went back to Dapitan around past 7... the gang was eating in D' sizzling... Mike, Hero, Feds, Auds, Timmy, Denise, Chris, Az, Buboi with our special guests: Francis and Jay, woo-hoo! ;) Powerfriends left already after watching a movie in sala... tsk! We waited for the rain to subside... onting ambon na lang. CAREFULLY walked along Dapitan and went to Evo, internet time! :) Super ingay ng mga naglalaro ng Counter... feeling ko mabibingi ka dun if you stay longer. ;) Eleap, Friendster, Blogger, YM, etc. ANTOK! Gonna see the twins and yoki in Gateway... c yah all! :) *OMG! I forgot to pay my meal... haha! Sama!*

*June 22 (Wednesday)Highlights: Claire, Auds, and I went to Aling Ising's... duplicate our keys... bought BBQ, corn, and drinks. Rain poured=stranded in Lisa's... watched Meteor Garden. :) We went to Auds dorm to get Yammy's book… then *boom* the streets were wet and slippery… guess what?!? I slipped... my butt on the ground... one arm holding books... *splash* ooops! Wet feet, wet butt... at mabango..... ok, sarcastically speaking. ;( It's oily... hmm, ano kayang component ng baha na un?? All the microbes ever imagined, haha. Super yuck and super humiliating!!!! In front pa of a car with two guys... eeewww! And in front of the manong guard in CHOWKING... sheesh! (Is this karma?? Because I laughed at a guy who also slipped?? YES!!!). As Claire said we went to Wendy's for touch-ups... haha. No effect I still had that gross, oily, stinky substance all over my feet! No match ang fear factor! I had no choice but to run back to our pad with the stinking feet and pants... hay. Sobrang ligo after, scrubbed my feet over and over again... hay. Can't get over that, yes it's funny pero when it happened to you I don't know how would you feel!!! Ako I was laughing na lang at the situation pero urgh! can't get over..... ;) Internet afterwards... super funny! :) Logged in to eleap... NSTP thingy. Nakakatawa blog ni Claire! Hay, Dr. James is the best... HIV! ;) I studied after then went to sleep... 0_o *I saw the med guy----.. nakakain-love!*

Whatta Nurse!

*June 21 (Tuesday) Worn our apron and had an orientation on our assigned RLE ward, Medicine Forbes. :) Mainit lang talaga sa Clinical Division ng hospital. Grabe the fist day pa lang I already broke my thermometer, hehe. ;) We had our group sharing, as part also of the orientation, Johari’s window. :) Here's what my RLE group mates have said about me: Auds- nice, moments during chem. lab and tambay sessions, our friendship to grow Az-harsh! Very reliable, still can smile even when rainstorms arrive, not that responsible and depended on friends Ate Geleen-outgoing, strong with self-confidence,a fighter Rachel-hindi nangiisnab, loud Viki- POWERFRIENDS (well mostly about our friendship nothing that describes me, hehe) Majan-friendly, responsible pero pagnatamad na hindi masyado maayos gumawa (haha), nakakatawa siya pag inaasar, confident Marc- maganda, simple, mabait, palakaibigan at masayahin, first impression:tahimik (whoa!) Fle- (more on the time she went in my unit last school year, hehe) ... well, it's all true. :) We also had to draw the floor plan of each floor sa pay and clinical divisions... art na naman. ;)

Saw the med guy again... hmm. My classmates were the best talaga! Galing magperform with out practice and props they managed to pull it off... hindi ganon planned pero super funny; basta Mike & Hero. *cheers* And kudos also to Steven and Tom (kahit si Steven lang ang total performer, haha). Galing! :) Wishing Silly and I could also do well with the "puppet show" next week.

Haha, I'm not used to seeing the boys wearing all white! White polo, pants, and shoes... haha, hindi bagay! ;p I love wearing the white stockings... parang ang ganda tingnan. :)

Lakas ng rain when we went home... puro black dots ung WHITE stockings namin. Andumi tignan, grrr!

FIRST DAY F*CK!

*Late ng gising the first day so super bilis naligo, nag-dry ng hair, onting powder. Good thing it's still early when Claire knocked. Anyways the professors were late din naman. :)

*Missed my classmates! Now we're a combi of I-10 and I-11 (us the majority, harhar). Kulitan, harutan, at walang sawang tawanan. ;) Happy-happy! Super hectic our sched. Actually, I feel so a nurse na. Aside from the duty (white socks, made up hair, white shoes, and apron) we're gonna tackle subjects na related na tagala sa course namin… MEDICINE, SCIENCE, HEALTH stuff. :) I felt happy and proud at the same time cause the teachers were congratulating us for passing, harhar. :) Mind you 29 units! And 4 hours of duty during Mondays and Wednesdays. First week pa lang tests na and ass. Pero I'm excited. ;) Especially sa capping on November together with the Nursing week. Somewhat stressed out, I don't know why. Maybe hindi pa sanay sa place pero '’m fine with it. Parang when I saw my reflection instead of saying "Wow ganda!" naging "Eyebug queen". Sobrang badtrip! ;p

*Kamalasan sa unit: binutas ceiling, tinanggal bowl... haha! Pero all's fine. :)

*Dinners with Claire, no cooking allowed inside Pacific. Dagdag allowance, weh! ;) Chowking, Haru urara, Mr. Kebab, Max's... more to come.

*1st day watched them play DoTa... I missed it pero tinamad maglaro. :) Pumunta si Edu, sayang talaga siya!

*Went home last Friday… we have a doggy na! Dachshund… named Ginger. It was Tita Michelle's pero binigay na lang samin. Haba! Medyo she's still adjusting pero I think she likes me na... haha. We went to the vet to have her checked, tapos when I'm sitting (Indian sit) she would sit on my lap... aww, sweet! ;p See you next week! :)

*HAVE TWO MAJOR CRUSHES!!! (LIFE? Love ko un e, hindi considered crush... yuck feeling. ;p) MED GUY... what a hunk... hehe. Ano bang term sa kanya? Papa? Guwapito? Basta crush ko siya together with Ate Pepay and Powerfriends. Haaayyy... inspired ako... wiiieeehhh! ;) X3A3W4 ... guess it! The other... mine & Claire's crush from PACIFIC... harhar. Hayayay! What a "first day". Actually, regular classes would be tom (June 15). Today was just the orientation for the Community Health Nursing, which was held in Esperanza Health Center in Sta. Mesa. But before that there were a lot of annoying things that happened. Last Monday I was left here ALONE! Kala ko I would be happy na naman kasi FREE pero may hang over pa ko ng summer and Batangas and my family... ;( So I cleaned my unit but it was still a mess the next morning, thanks to the workers here who cut a hole in my ceiling. Daming problema ng condo na 'to! Elson? I stayed in Claire's unit for a while, mas malaki ung kanya. Parang we exchange rooms, the ones we had in Galeria. :) The electricity was on and off and so was the water. The reason is that the transformer cannot accommodate all the power, especially from the refs and ACs, tsk! Too bad! And to make matters worst, super init this morning!!! Aside from the sleepless night that I quite expected... bad hair day pa! Haha, my "buhaghag" hair is so reliable to the blow dryer. ;( I also forgot certain minor things. And after that we had to commute going to Sta. Mesa... super init!!!! WASTED until we got there... still mainit. How I hate Manila dahil sa init. And super boring pa ng lecture, we got a quiz pa on Monday and I didn't jot down notes, haha. Nanggulo lang at tumawa. ;) I really want to go home and fix my unit. At last I manage to sweep my room, polish the floor, wash the dishes, dust the furniture, and clean the bathroom after an hour and a half of waiting for WATER. I had none even drinking water (the last that I used to wash my face, haha. Super sweaty ako!). I can't even wash my hands! And the electricity was going on and off again. Buti na lang all was resolved. :) THANK GOD! Badtrip na ko ng sobra-sobra. :) At ngayon could sleep! I still can’t watch TV (no antenna) and surf the net (no telephone line). Hay, boring! I regret wishing that I would be back here and study, hehe. ;) Better days ahead! :) So tired… 0_o

Haha, enrollment today! We wore our uniforms, bkit kaya kelangan? Hmm... anyways, we planned to meet (powerfriends) in front of the church. I arrived earlier so I was just standing there staring blankly or sometimes looks at the people passing by for a familiar face. :) Well, Silly got there second and we went to the Medicine building for our scheds we waited na lang for Hanna and Viki to get theirs. Nakakatawa talaga si Silly... hehe. Naka-flip flops e sama ng weather, it rained (summer's gone na ba? I hate rainy days, urgh!) so ayun parang namalengke ang likod... hehe. ;) Ako rin, pero isa or dalawa lang na putik. :) Hay mainit, just by merely walking from the gym to our building... dugyot! So enrollment na! Saw other blockmates... II-10 na talaga kami. I was with Jim and Miguel sa line. Hay I saw him!!! LIFE! ;) Well, onting kilig... there was a moment when he was just beside me, haha! ;) And funny sina Buboi, Chris, at Mike. :) I chose Table Tennis for my PE... then CWTS for my NSTP. :) After the enrollment they decided to watch a movie (SHUTTER) in Rob Place Ermita... I can't come... I have a lot to accomplish. Which are:

1.) Get my Reichter Stethoscope... a very expensive thing! Golly! 3,800 (discounted na yan! Orig price would be bet 10-11 K I think...) *which by the way I didn't accomplish, haha. I should text pala the guy so he could prepared my order...*

2.) Get my new set of uniforms *which again I didn't accomplish... because I thought I could get it easily w/o the receipt, but I was wrong. I could actually get it after they find my record which may take time due to other customers (there are a lot of then at that time... whew!)*

3.) Get my deposit in Galeria *haha, I didn't again... last week of June pa daw!*

4.) Visit Pacific Suites *yipee! I was transferred to M04 (mezzanine)... Thank You Elson! But my things aren't arranged yet... haha.*

ALL NOT ACCOMPLISHED SHALL BE DONE ON JUNE 6... IT'S A MUST!

I waited several minutes for Kuya Pepe (doing the PLDT transfer of phone lines...). Jim was kind to accompany me but I insist that he should go na, may pupuntahan pa ata. So I was left all alone na naman, but it's not a big deal anymore. I'm used to it na... unlike before that you can't let me wait alone, hehe. :) I was so hungry!
On the way home I decided to drop by the mall to find a rubber shoes (I need a new one na!) I found a running shoes, pang track n field... haha! I fell in love with the color talaga e! SKYBLUE! :) So I bought it na rin... ewan ko, ung mga andun sa nike park (two guys) when I was about to pay the bill kinausap ako. I was writing kasi some infos about me because they are gonna give me a discount card of some sort... they ask me where in batangas... blah2... if galing pa ko dun; sabi ko hindi galing akong UST nag-enroll (Imagine I was strolling in the mall in uniform, haha! Some don't care, some pakialamero!)... may boyfriend na ba daw ako... may kasama ba... blah-blah. Then come to the point na parang sobrang nailang na ako so, I was just smiling na lang. Labis ung nabigay kong money... nakalimutan ko ung card... and lastly ung change! Kabaliw, kahiya! Tapos sabi ba naman if they could text me, haha. WHATEVER! Anyways friendly flirt, guys talaga... tsk! ;) Do they know what's my age?? Baka mamaya they are in their twenty's na or older... haha. Child abuse. ;)
